yeah, I don't know either

me - humor, sarcasm, military, music, wine, food, work, school, baseball and hockey, books, contradictions... I was here for a while, but I haven't been there in quite some time.

I live on Long Island. I grew up in New York City. With regard to the five boroughs, Nassau and Suffolk Counties, most excursions aren’t of the overnight variety, however, the farthest destinations of the North and South Forks are 90 and 100 mile drives, respectively. I had a notion to drive out on a Friday, drink a respectable amount of wine, eat well, stay the night, indulge in some local spa services the next day and take our asses home.

It’s come to my attention that I’m naive.

Every hotel/motel/b&b/inn etc I’ve checked requires a two night stay during the “high season”. I don’t want to stay two nights. I live “here”. I just wanted to have a “girly” weekend, meaning Friday afternoon through Saturday evening, because that’s what I wanted, as a consumer who is willing to give someone else my money.

I’m still searching. We might end up upstate, or hop on the ferry to Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or even Connecticut. I want to give you my money, Suffolk County. You’re behaving like a spoiled child. You might want to reexamine that behavior.
